The sterile bulk fill operation for active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), bulk drug substance (BDS), or Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP) remains one of the most critical processes in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. This late-stage process has potential safety impacts to the end user. After a drug is filled in a cleanroom, there are few or no further safeguards to ensure its sterility.
